Catharanthus Roseus is a species of flowering plant, also called Nithya Kalyani or Nayantara in Tamil Language, in the family of Apocynaceae.

It is native to Madagascar, but grown elsewhere.  It is a medicinal plant used as a source of the drugs Vincristine and Vinblastine, to treat cancer. Other names of the flower include Vinca Rosea, Rose periwinkle or Cape periwinkle .
